Olearia lineata, commonly known as Small-leaved Tree Daisy, is a fast-growing NZ native tree with fine, willowy grey foliage and masses of slender, erect twigs. The tiny, very narrow leaves are white underneath, giving the plant a soft, silvery appearance in the landscape. In season it produces fragrant white flowers, adding subtle scent and pollinator value. Its naturally upright, bushy habit makes it excellent for hedging, screening or forming a graceful small tree.

Reaching around 8m tall and 2m wide, Olearia lineata grows quickly and thrives in full sun to partial shade. Hardy and adaptable, it performs reliably across Queenstown and Central Otago, offering strong structure and fast establishment even in exposed sites. Its fine texture and elegant form make it a versatile choice for both native and mixed plantings.
