Carex dispacea is a fine-leaved NZ native tussock naturally found along rivers, lakes and wetland margins. Its soft, upright foliage forms a loose, textural mound that brings movement and subtle colour to riparian plantings or ornamental gardens. Fast-growing and adaptable, it is ideal for stabilising damp soils while adding a naturalistic, wetland aesthetic.

Reaching around 1m tall and 1m wide, Carex dispacea thrives in full shade to partial shade and prefers consistently moist conditions. Hardy across Queenstown and Central Otago, it performs well in wetland restoration, stream edges, pond margins or mixed native borders where extra texture is needed.
