These plants are selected to work together naturally - binding the soil to prevent erosion, soaking up excess runoff and creating a beautiful, low-maintenance native feature. Perfect for smaller properties or tackling one section of a stream bank at a time.

Plant Selection:
You will receive a curated mix of 5 species chosen from the 8 water-tolerant native varieties below (subject to stock availability):
- Carex secta (Purei / Makura): Large, tussock-forming sedge ideal for planting right at the water's edge to stabilise banks.
- Carex virgata (Swamp Sedge): Tough, densely tufted sedge that thrives in wet soils and boggy ground.
- Juncus pallidus (Giant Rush / Wīwī): Strong, upright rush perfect for filtered water treatment and the soggiest spots.
- Phormium tenax (Harakeke / Swamp Flax): Bold, structural native providing strong root binding, shelter and rich nectar for native birds.
- Austroderia richardii (Toetoe): Graceful native grass with large feathery plumes that adds height and softness to wet areas.
- Cordyline australis (Tī Kōuka / Cabbage Tree): Iconic structural tree planted further up the bank to attract birdlife and anchor wet soil.
- Pittosporum tenuifolium (Kōhūhū): Versatile, fast-growing shrub offering lush foliage screening and bank shelter.
- Olearia lineata (Dwarf Dart Tree / Dartonii): Extremely hardy, weeping native shrub suited to damp, exposed river flats and riparian margins.
