Pseudpanax discolor
Queenstown Nursery
Pseudopanax discolor is a striking New Zealand native shrub known for its lush, glossy foliage and naturally rounded form. New growth often emerges with a soft bronze tint, maturing to deep green, giving the plant a rich, layered look throughout the year. Compact and tidy, it typically grows to around 1 - 2m, making it ideal for modern gardens, mixed native plantings, and sheltered courtyard spaces.
This species performs best in full sun to partial shade and prefers free‑draining soil with some shelter from harsh wind or frost. With its bold foliage and easy‑care nature, Pseudopanax discolor adds structure, colour, and a distinctly native character to any landscape.
