Hebe salicifolia (koromiko)
Queenstown Nursery
Hebe salicifolia, commonly known as Koromiko, is a fast-growing NZ native shrub with a large, spreading habit and elegant willow-like foliage. From summer into early autumn it produces showy white to pale lilac drooping flower spikes that attract bees and other pollinators. Its vigorous growth and natural form make it an excellent choice for revegetation, low shelter and native restoration projects.
Reaching around 4m tall and 2m wide, Koromiko thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, free-draining soils. Hardy, evergreen and tolerant of wind and cold, it performs reliably across Queenstown and Central Otago. In garden settings, trim after flowering to maintain shape and encourage fresh growth.
Choose Hebe salicifolia for a robust, fast-establishing NZ native shrub that delivers shelter, pollinator-friendly flowers and dependable performance in both landscape and restoration plantings.
