Buxus suffruticosa (dwarf box)

Buxus suffruticosa (Dwarf Box) is a slow-growing, compact boxwood ideal for neat, formal edging and low hedging. Its vibrant green foliage and naturally dense, rounded habit make it perfect for borders, pathways, knot gardens and container planting. Once established, it requires less pruning and maintenance than Buxus sempervirens, while still delivering a crisp, structured look.

Reaching around 50cm tall and wide, Dwarf Box thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soils. Hardy and evergreen, it performs reliably in Queenstown and Central Otago gardens, providing year'round colour and tidy form in both modern and traditional landscapes.

Choose Buxus suffruticosa for a classic, low-maintenance dwarf box hedge that offers enduring structure and dependable performance in challenging conditions.
