Muehlenbeckia complexa 'Nana' is a compact NZ native groundcover that forms a tight, carpet-like mat of fine, wiry stems and small green leaves. Sitting neatly between M. axillaris and M. complexa in size and vigour, 'Nana' offers a dense, sprawling habit without becoming overly rambling. Its tidy growth makes it ideal for borders, banks, rock gardens and low-maintenance landscape planting.

Growing to around 30cm tall and spreading up to 1.5m wide, this hardy groundcover thrives in full sun to partial shade and performs reliably in Queenstown and Central Otago conditions. It is well suited to hot, dry sites and exposed areas, providing excellent coverage and year-round texture.
