Welcome to our temporary holding page. We're currently working hard to bring you our fully-fledged website, set to launch in the first quarter of 2024.

Queenstown Nursery is your supplier of locally grown outdoor exotic and native plant species, nestled amidst the Arrowtown scenery. Our nursery offers a wide-ranging collection of the best plants hardened off to the Central Lake’s climate.

Our plants are grown from a mixture of seeds and cuttings, with a small selection of plants being brought in and hardened off to Queenstown’s varied conditions.

Rely on our seasoned team for expert guidance in handpicking the perfect flora for your garden's unique requirements. We're dedicated to promoting sustainable gardening practices and offering eco-conscious solutions, eliminating the need for long-haul transport to get the plants to their new home. We have a large range of eco-sourced stock and plan to continue this to one day be completely self-sufficient.

We offer free delivery (within 15km of our shop in Frankton) throughout the Queenstown region on orders over $100.

Best Plants for Central Otago - Our Top Recommendations

1) Chionochloa Rubra (Red Tussock)

The tussock is a staple within the Queenstown landscaping scene. You will find it within most gardens and across the district such as the remarkables. They can cope with a range of conditions and are well suited to the Queenstown climate.

2) Griselinia Littoralis

With their dense structure and large leaf, they are a fantastic option for a hedge. Growing to around 6m tall, these are well suited to a variety of scenarios to help give you the privacy screen you desire.

3) Phormium Jack spratt (Ornamental flax)

This eye-catching dwarf flax is a great addition to any garden. Tolerant of most soil conditions, they are perfect for the Queenstown region.

4) Hebe Wiri Cloud

A compact variety of veronica (hebe), these make a fantastic feature within your garden. Growing to 0.4m high & wide with light pink flowers early summer, these will not only attract wildlife, but the envious looks of your neighbours.

5) Leptospermum Scoparium (Manuka)

Fast growing, native tree with fantastic white flowers in the spring, even as late as mid summer. Attractive to bees and the source of the famous manuka honey, these trees are a great choice for your native planting project.
